The challenge
In July 2022 MAOR sent a visual guidebook for its fine jewelry: 35 images and a 10-second video, due by 30 July, for a campaign on social media and the brand's own website. The list was specific: top-down mega-menu banners in light colors, product groupings for the women's and men's pages, artistic close crops for each collection, and a horizontal spread of a bracelet in three metals for the homepage.
Many pieces had no usable photos. Some were still in production, others had been shot but needed retouching, and one, the Aphelion earring in white gold, didn't exist yet but still had to appear.
The process
We ran the project from one index deck, with a slide per image, grouped into three priorities and three styles: minimalistic, simple props and custom. MAOR's team uploaded the CAD files (3DM and STL) for each piece, sometimes simplifying them first, and our artists built the scenes. Comments on the slides handled the details: which metal each piece should show, white diamonds instead of an emerald, only one size where pricing required it.
As the launch got closer, MAOR decided to use renderings instead of white-background photos for several products, since rendering the full product was more efficient than a new shoot. For the video, the bracelets and rings were to follow a Tiffany & Co. film the team had chosen as a reference.
The outcome
The index deck shows every slide modeled and almost every scene finished, split between two of our artists, and a Unity bracelet video was made alongside the stills.
MAOR got styled images of pieces that were still in production or not yet made, without waiting for a photo shoot.
