The challenge
After our first project together, Abbott Lyon came back on 31 January 2025 with a brief "to create a batch of packshot imagery like our previous brief", plus a new section of bundles: several pieces in one image, with bracelets on a tube display.
The brief listed 48 items in four stages, the first marked ASAP and the others due on 11, 17 and 25 April. Some pieces already had 3D files from the earlier project. Others, like the new heart huggie earrings and studs, the Aqua Moon and Back Belgravia watch and the Moon and Back ring, had to be built from photos, videos and font files.
The process
Martin had Denis estimate the modelling time item by item, and again when the brief was revised in April. For the heart huggie earrings, Tash Stanley-Stiff suggested only changing the stone color on an existing packshot. Martin's answer was a full 3D model, "otherwise we won't have any control over the lighting, color or angles". A second artist modelled the heart earrings, the watch and a ring, while Denis rendered the scenes and checked details with Tash, from the font files to the blue pearl dial for the watch.
Tash reviewed every image on its own slide, and most took one to three versions. The bundles moved from grey to the brand's cream background. The gemstones were raised out of their settings and given more texture to match the model photos. On the name necklaces, the chains were made even on both sides, the dots on the i's removed, holes added to letters like O, E and B, and the loops moved to the top of the letters.
In early May Tash chased progress: the name necklaces were due to launch on Friday 9 May, and two heart earring styles had been brought forward. Martin answered with a video walkthrough and a call on 6 May, and color-coded the revision pages: green for approved, pink for in progress.
The outcome
All 18 name necklace images were approved on 8 and 9 May, by the launch date. The last image, the solitaire pear ring, was signed off on 19 May, and the project was delivered on 20 May 2025. All 39 revision decks end approved, from bracelet bundles on tube displays to heart huggie earring and stud bundles. In total the project came to 139 images.
