The challenge
House of Cosmo builds its fragrances around futuristic ideas: scents such as New Eden, Crimson Aura and Lunar Minerale are meant to evoke places no one has been yet. On our first call in August 2025 the team explained that they needed product images for a fragrance convention in December, and the custom bottles were not in hand yet.
The images had to look photographed, not too perfect or too CGI. The brief came with technical drawings of the bottle and cap, the label artwork and exact print specs: a black top at 80–90% opacity fading to 10–20% at the base, a soft-touch black label, and the logo and fragrance name in matte silver foil, slightly embossed.
The process
Our first concepts showed the bottles floating in space. After seeing them, the team changed the brief: the bottles should stand on a surface, and New Eden moved from a garden to an alien forest. Crimson Aura got a deep red gas cloud glowing from the bottle, Nova a ring-shaped supernova, Galaxia a coffee-and-vanilla Milky Way, Polaris a star beaming down on the bottle, and Lunar Minerale a moon surface with green-blue dust.
Most of the review happened live on calls, with us adjusting the scenes while Kit Wilkins and the team watched. We kept the glass true to the real bottle, straightened the label tops, softened the embossing and tuned the foil until it read as silver rather than white. Before the final renders, every change went into the review slides for sign-off. Because the team would zoom in on the labels to check the embossing, we rendered the finals in 8K and added uncropped versions, so they could crop the scenes however they needed.
The outcome
The final images went to the client on 11 October 2025, and the 8K versions followed on 13 October. For the convention booth, Kit chose two scenes from this project, New Eden and Lunar Minerale, for large-format prints.
Four more projects followed. The second, started before the first closed, added soft gas-cloud images in each fragrance's color, a scene for Element Δ with a misty Δ symbol, all eight bottles on white and black backgrounds, and the boxes in soft-touch black with silver foil. Then came the 10 ml bottles and carton, a Discovery Set image and, in early 2026, a scene for the new fragrance Lux Prima plus re-renders of the line with new labels.
