The challenge
Ibraq's fragrances Vicuña, Malayan, Massai and Manta take their names from animals: the vicuña, the Malayan tiger, the ostrich and the manta ray. In January 2025 the brand asked us for 3D models of all four and three 10-second animations: a teaser with a Ramadan night theme, and two more where we would turn the scene to night and add the Ramadan moon and candles.
Wild animals with realistic fur, moving naturally next to a perfume bottle at night, had to be built entirely in 3D, together with the scenes and the bottles.
The process
Each animal was specified as a realistic Blender model following photo references: with fur, rigged, and with basic animation. Every model was checked against a reference for the level of detail we expected before it went into a scene.
The scenes are set at night by water, with the bottles standing on rocks in the stream and the animals around them under moonlight. Each animation went through its own review pages in our system, version by version, until the client marked it approved.
The outcome
Ibraq received three approved 10-second night animations, with the last revision pages dated 17 February 2025. The vicuña and the tiger share the moonlit river with the bottles of all four fragrances, and the brief's Ramadan details, the moon and the candles, are part of the scenes.
Because the animals now exist as rigged 3D models, they can return in new poses or scenes for later campaigns.
