Dust explosion concept for cosmetic pigments of Shades of London – London, UK

Shades of London were an existing cosmetic photography client who needed a unique and eye-catching hero image for their website. The original plan was to use CGI photography. However, 3D rendering alone was not producing the results we had hoped for.

Using Photoshop to retouch the dust and details allowed for a balance of striking 3D imagery and more intricate visuals. No aspect of Shades of London’s ultimate vision was overlooked, and we collaborated closely with the client all throughout the process.

Occasionally, a change in approach is needed for the best results, and this was what we opted for here. We eventually decided to create the framework of the hero image using 3D rendering, whilst adding those all-important finishing touches in Photoshop.

The combination of 3D rendering and Photoshop retouching was able to meet Shades of London’s goals, bringing their unique idea to life brilliantly. The image looks fantastic on their website and attracts new and existing clients alike.
